1933 Willys Coupe

So we blew up the 377" last April when a rod bolt failed and gave us 2 dip stick push outs. I have been buying parts and collecting for the last 7 or 8 years because I never thought the thing would last spinning 8500 to 9000 on the shift and my son hitting the chip on the burn out ( 10,000) but it did for close to 15 years. Now the one I have wanted to build is coming along not nicely! LOL.
The new build is a GM aluminum raised cam block at 403" Pro action 14 degree aluminum head deal. Kinsler injection.
Here we are setting it up and low and behold the Howards crank is 2.101" Ok no big deal? but the Oliver rods are .005 under!! WTF here we go again...... Was it Clay that called me tenacious when I was building the Turbo 400? Stay tuned.

Hi Adam,
Sounds like fun. The weird thing I ran into was certainly a bit smaller of a tolerance than you are talking. The Clevite H bearings were correct the standard non-H bearings when I was putting my motor back together were too tight. .005 under looks like you need the rods resized.

On a secondary note: Where is smoke?

Last I heard he was rewriting the code for the board as he was not happy with current performance.

Hmm? When was that? I haven't been able to get in touch with him via email, PM or any of the old phone numbers I have for him. Kind of disappeared off the grid....

That was several months back (6 or 7 from memory). I had sent him a PM asking how he could afford to pay for a dedicated data line with such light traffic.
