I actually live in the suburbs of Cork, which is a four way stop about three miles from my house, Cork is in the suburbs of Plant City, which is in the suburbs of Tampa, which some people have actually heard of.
I've traveled all over the US and a lot of the world. Because of this I have learned to say I live in Tampa rather than run down the fact I live in the middle of no where.
This reminds me of a routine they did a few decades ago on "The Beverly Hillbillies" about Bug Tussle, when Jed was trying to explain where he had lived prior to moving to CA. He lived in a remote hollow, just off of a railroad siding, outside of an abandoned train depot, not far from an obscure cross roads, which was just down the road "a piece" (20-25 miles or a days walk) from the small farming village, of Hooterville which was only 50 miles (by the New Hope & Ivyland Railroad) outside of Pixley. Jed was saying over the phone to an inquiring voice, "But you've got to have heard of Pixley; it's the county seat!"

Clay, I went to boot camp in Columbia and bought one of my Novas in North Augusta! I live in Foley, Alabama which is about 6 miles from the Gulf of Mexico in the south west part of the state.

Simi pronounced see me valley Ca. which is 45 minutes north west of L.A. 1 hr. from Los angeles county raceway(which is closing this year) and 1hr and 45 minutes from fontana, which is pretty much the only So. Cal track left besides Pomona which is 1 hr. away and has such limited use, it is basically useless except for NHRA events. |
