The info I have from arp says 70 lbs with arp moly lube and 85 lbs with 30 wt oil. It also says due to the expansion rate of aluminum torque should be 65 lbs with arp moly lube. I'll take a pic of it and send it to you if you want. Clay

I sent a copy. I scaled the image so the file wasn't so large. Lete know if you need the full size image as I don't know if it'll get too blurry if you blow it up. Clay

Too late - you've got another copy coming. I sent the first one from home and my service sucks so I thought that might have been it. Anyway glad you got it. Clay

According to ARP they state that SBC head studs are torqued to 80 ft/lbs with the ARP lube supplied in the kit. That is according to their web site. I thought for some strange reason we were talking about rocker arm screw in studs; which are torqued to 70 ft/lbs on the BBC, and since both use the same size 7/16th inch base I assume the same value for the SBC.

80? this means I have to re torque? I'll have to check the box. I think the instructions were in there. I know I followed them. Just thought it was 65...

You always retorque after it has been running for a bit and gone through a few heat cycles.
Here is a link to the instruction sheet if you can not find yours.

I gave up on the after running retorque a few years ago. I'll retorque it 2 times over a few days while I'm assembling it then I'm done. Now with mls or steel shim gaskets once and done. I just can't see what there is to crush or relax like a composite gasket. Clay

Yep I have re torqued 4 mls and what a waste of time.
Never again. They don't loose even after heat cycling.

Thanks Dave,
I have not had a chance to look into this. If I did have the sheet it is torqued to that. I just don't remember. Sometimers disease...
