When does it become neccessary to run screws in the slicks? I was told 16 psi and lower, but its better to run more like 18psi because you get more topend. I'm using drag radials and running 20 psi and I was told if I go to like 15psi I need screws in the rim. I plan on changing over to slicks this year and was wondering what I should run them at. _________________

Don't worry about screws until you need them. Mark the tire/wheel with a paint stick at four spots around the rim. Make a few passes, get your car setup the way it likes it and keep your eye on the witness marks. If your setup causes some wheel spin inside the tire THEN stuff some screws into it... |

I used to run my car without bead screws. It went low nines before it became a problem. As stated on the previously, use a white paint pen on your rim and tire and whatch for rotation.
Hope this helps
