pinion angle set up on a 2 piece driveshaft.

time to install new rear. how should i go about setting the pinion? the tranny is 5degrees the end of front shaft is 3degress. should i set the pinion to 5 or 3 degrees. or neither.

Since nobody has answered, I'll jump in. Because the front shaft is stationary at the rear of it, it takes the trans out of the equation. Set the pinion at 2 degrees up-bubble if the car is 99.9% street driven. Drag racing is a whole different story. I like to leave maybe 1 degree disparity so that in normal driving, engine torque will pull the pinion up maybe 1 degree and line up the joints. That's my 2 cents worth.
