im putting in a safety loop soon due to running a et street tire
question is....does it matter how far back (from the trans yoke)
it is installed...rule wise anyway

no more than 6 inces away from the u-joint(center)
anything from 1 to 6 inch is good thumbsup

Closer you can get it to the joint the better, if you can get it there with out hitting something else. 1" wide band minimum no more than 6" to the edge furthest from the centerline of the U-Joint.
